Spiritual – by integrating Christian values throughout the curriculum.
Intellectual – by teaching an academic program that is both rigorous and relevant.
Psychological – by teaching respect for oneself and for others.
Social – by involving student in activities both within the Parish and in the community at large.
Cultural – by encouraging tolerance, acceptance and responsibility as members of the world community.

Hello! My name is Ms. Rachael Allen and I am the Middle School English teacher and Student Council moderator here at Our Lady of Lourdes School, Tujunga. I am extremely grateful and blessed to be a part of the OLL family.
Allow me tell you a bit about myself. I am a lifelong resident of Sunland-Tujunga and I graduated from California State University, Northridge in May of 2018, where I received my Bachelors degree in Liberal Studies. I completed a dual program where I received my degree, as well as my multiple-subjects preliminary teaching credential in the State of California. Currently, I am attending Loyola Marymount University to receive my masters degree in Urban Education. I am also working toward receiving my secondary teaching credential for grades seven and above.
I love to challenge my students and engage their learning through the use of technology and active participation. I have a passion for teaching and watching the minds of all of my students grow as they grow to love learning. When I am not teaching, I love to travel and enjoy the outdoors by hiking, camping, and taking trips to the lake with my family. I am excited to begin my teaching career in such a loving and kind environment here at Our Lady of Lourdes!

7th & 8th Grades
Hi! My name is Alison Dirstine and I am the 7th Grade Homeroom teacher here at Our Lady of Lourdes School. I also teach Social Studies, Religion, and Art to 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Let me tell you a little about myself.
I am a proud OLL alumni, Class of 1987, and I am honored to be teaching at my alma mater! I come from a family of teachers. My mom, Mrs. Pat Livingston, was also a teacher here in the ’70s and ’80s as well as Principal in the early ’90s. After graduating from OLL, I went on to attend Providence High School. I have both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from California State University, Northridge.
I also teach the Yearbook Elective, which is a subject near and dear to my heart. Most of my career was spent in the non-profit public relations and marketing fields and I love journalism and desktop publishing. I am looking forward to imparting some of my knowledge to my students.
When I am not busy, I love spending time with my husband and two kids at my home in Canyon Country. We all love reading, watching movies, playing video games, and eating at our favorite local restaurants.

Hi! I’m Ben Freeman and I’m the Middle School Math and Science teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes School. I was born and raised in La Crescenta and graduated from St. Francis High School before earning my BA from Boston College. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Education from Loyola Marymount University, so I’m well acquainted with the value of a Catholic education.
